Results of survey to be released next week

The community survey part of the Clark County Strategic Plan (CCSP) has closed and the results will be announced next Tuesday evening during the next meeting of the committee.

The survey was conducted by Taimerica, a consulting firm hired to facilitate the creation of Clark County’s Strategic Development Plan.

Citizens will have input in Tuesday’s ‘brainstorming’ session

With all the planning for the future taking place in Clark County, some confusion is perhaps inevitable, according to Dr. Wesley Kluck, one of the chairmen of the Clark County Strategic Planning Committee.

Kluck recently aided the Arkadelphia Planning Commission by distributing information about a design charrette for the Comprehensive Development Plan.

Ed Bee explains company’s role in developing strategic plan

Ed Bee’s role in Clark County’s Strategic Planning Committee is simple, yet complex. Bee and his company, Taimerica, were hired by the committee to serve as the facilitator of a strategic development plan, but that title isn’t always accurate, Bee said.

“It’s really broader than that,” Bee said recently in a phone interview.

Strategic Planning survey open to all

More than 600 Clark County residents have completed surveys for the county’s Strategic Planning Committee. The goal is for all citizens to complete the survey as soon as possible so the results can be tabulated, said Dr. Wesley Kluck, co-chairman of the Strategic Planning Committee.

Co-chair of strategic planning explains how all citizens fit into process

Organizers of the Clark County Strategic Development Plan want every community member to be part of the planning process.

Dr. Wesley Kluck, one of the co-chairmen of the Clark County Strategic Planning Organization, said each of the six subcommittees has a place for any interested citizen. “Each resident of Clark County can be a member of every committee,” Kluck said.

Friars Point Bank Struggles to remain open

Delta Southern Bank officials have told Friars Point residents more deposits and loans are needed to keep the local bank open, but they have yet to specify how much additional revenue would make it a profitable venture.

Farmer and agri-businessman Charlie Craig asked Delta Bank President George Purcel Thursday night, “How much will it take to make the bank profitable?”
