Casey Foundation in honor of our work building better futures for disadvantaged children and families. The debate over increasing the severance tax on natural gas is building momentum in Arkansas.
Right now, gas companies pay Arkansas three-tenths of a cent for every 1,000 cubic feet taken from the Fayetteville shale play. The rate is one of the lowest in the country.

Project Deserve, a fund established by Entergy Arkansas to help elderly and disabled customers pay their electric bills in times of financial crisis, has begun its 25th year in 2007 with a new fund administrator, Southern Good Faith Fund.
