Although I missed the race itself, I read the news and web accounts of Olympic athlete Joey Cheek who announced, on winning the gold medal in speedskating, that he would donate the entire $25,000 prize to the philanthropic work of Norway’s famed Olav Koss, another gold medal Olympian.

Tyson teams to build biofuel plant

In its second major energy announcement this year, Tyson Foods Inc. said Monday that it would spend $75 million to help build a synthetic fuels plant to power diesel cars and high performance military jets.

Confiscating cars

Boys and Girls Club unveils big plans

Boys & Girls Club Executive Director Jason Rolett, Director of Programs Royce Watson, and Board Member Doug Friedlander have unveiled the Club’s 5-year plan highlighting its major priorities for 2007. The plans include substantially increasing the number of youths served and the number of life enhancing programs offered.
