What happens when parents, students and teachers all commit to a student’s success? If the KIPP Delta College Preparatory School in Helena-West Helena is any indication, that combination can be powerful and productive.

The KIPP charter schools began in 1994 in Houston when two young teachers, frustrated with the public school system, decided to do something about it.

Delta Bridge Project status report: $52 million spent in two years

Two years have passed since the Phillips County Strategic Plan’s wheels started turning and Tuesday at the historic Malco Theater on Cherry St., a progress report was given before a packed house with Arkansas Governor Mike Beebe giving the keynote address.

KIPP holds annual public meeting

According to KIPP Delta School Director Scott Shirey’s report to the public concerning last spring’s test scores, at nearly every grade level KIPP students outperformed both the local district and statewide averages on the Arkansas Benchmark Test.

Delta Bridge Project Announces $400,000 in Grant Funding

The Delta Bridge Project announced today $400,000 in grants for KIPP Delta College Preparatory School in Helena-West Helena. These funds will provide space to accommodate classes for the next two years while KIPP Delta expands its program to serve students in grades 5 through 12.
