Members of the housing subcommittee of the Clark County Strategic Plan will contact all the mayors in the county to get their communities involved in a housing study, said Tom Calhoon, co-chairman of the subcommittee.

The main theme of a meeting on Wednesday, Calhoon said, was to find out what kind of housing was needed in the county. “What will sell?” was the question, he said.

Members of the subcommittee will meet with each of the city councils in the county to find out what the cities and citizens want, Calhoon said.

The group is also studying the traffic flow between cities to find out if there is a connection between where people work and where they live. These numbers will reveal where the need for housing exists, he said.

Reports on those projects and others will be presented during the subcommittee’s meeting next month.
